Caring For Your Rug
- Rotate your rug roughly every 6 months to even out wear from foot traffic
- Keep it out of direct sunlight — appropriate curtains or draperies will help protect the colours
- Vacuum regularly on a gentle, low-suction setting. Avoid rotating brush (beater) attachments, as these can damage the pile
- When storing or transporting, roll the rug in plastic sheeting and place mothballs inside the roll
- Steam cleaners and dry cleaning are not suitable for this rug
- Treat stains and spills as spot cleans only — never wash or saturate the entire rug
- Act quickly on spills: scoop up any solids first, then blot (don't rub) using paper towel or a clean white cloth on both the front and back of the rug, repeating as needed
- For stubborn stains, a commercial carpet stain remover can help — just avoid anything containing hydrogen peroxide, bleach or other whitening agents, and patch-test first
- Mild detergents like dishwashing liquid can also work — apply with a sponge after blotting, using suds only (don't soak), then rinse residue out with warm water and blot again. Allow the area to air dry fully afterwards
